Allyson Adams
After attending the University of Arizona, Allyson Adams received her Masters in Human Services and Counseling in 1995 from DePaul University and spent the first part of her career in the mental health profession. After taking a short hiatus to raise her 3 children she went back into the counseling profession and shifted gears to education. She went to National-Louis University to earn her Type 73 in School Counseling and additionally attended Concordia University-Chicago to earn her second Masters in Educational Leadership and her Type 75 in School Administration. Allyson has spent over 20 years in the counseling profession advocating for and supporting young people on their academic and social emotional journey. She believes that each student is unique in their own way and can achieve anything they put their mind to!
Since working in education, Allyson has specialized in the area of college counseling. She has visited hundreds of colleges across the United States and has made various connections with admissions representatives and college stakeholders. Allyson is on the board of Mental Health America of the North Shore and on the board and an Executive Board Member of the Illinois School Counselor Association. She is a member of the Illinois Association of College Admission Counseling as well. In her spare time Allyson loves to exercise, read and most importantly spend time with family and friends.
